As Senior Director of Applications and Solutions, Fred Ellefson works to position ADVA Optical Networking’s innovative Optical+Ethernet portfolio of products in the global marketplace. He is responsible for understanding the dynamics of the markets in which ADVA’s solutions offer their best advantages and developing the company’s go-to-market strategies. Fred has more than 25 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry working for large companies such as Alcatel and Nortel as well as start-ups including Covaro networks and Rapid5. Fred has been a long time contributor to the MEF. | | D. Mark Durrett is the MEF Access Technologies working group co-chair and works in solutions marketing and product line management at Overture Networks where he helps solve market problems through innovation in Overture’s award winning Carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation equipment. Mark joined Overture Networks in 2006 after a three year break from the carrier Ethernet industry during which he was director of product marketing and management at Covelight Systems, a real-time online fraud management software company which was recently acquired by Radware. Mark has been involved in carrier Ethernet before the term existed – holding marketing and engineering positions at industry pioneers Hatteras Networks and NetEdge Systems. | | Brian Rose has over 9 years of experience in the telecommunications field. Beginning his career with BellSouth, he held positions in sales, operations and product management within a diverse range of business units including Enterprise and Wholesale services. Most recently, Brian has led Ethernet product development efforts within Cox Business. He is actively involved in the Metro Ethernet Forum and focused on delivering Ethernet products to displace legacy technologies such as Frame Relay. In addition, Brian continues to help lead a cross MSO initiative on delivering Ethernet services over DOCSIS. | | J. Craig Easley is the MEF Americas Marketing Co-chair and serves as Matisse’s Vice President of Marketing. Craig has 17 years of experience in the information technology and telecommunications industries with such notable companies Nortel Networks, Bay Networks, Extreme Networks, Atmosphere and Network General. Mr. Easley has served 5 terms on the Metro Ethernet Forum’s (MEF) Board of Directors and is a visible leader within the Carrier Ethernet industry. He has also been a long-time participant in the IEEE and has contributed to the development of numerous telecommunications standards. | | Margaret T. Chiosi is the Executive Director at AT&T Labs Ethernet & Optics Service Development. Margaret is on the MEF Board of Directors and is currently responsible for the delivery of Ethernet services and infrastructures as well as Optical for AT&T managed, metro, national and global markets. She has led organizations responsible from concept through development and deployment of emerging network technologies for new data services, data networking equipment, and has set strategic direction for data services and products. | | Michael Joseph Volgende. As the Director of Global Ethernet Services Michael leads the Marketing team responsible for all aspects of Verizon's Global Ethernet portfolio including Ethernet Private Line, Ethernet Virtual Private Line, Ethernet LAN, Ethernet Virtual Private LAN Service, Ethernet Packet Ring and Ethernet Access. Responsibilities encompass product development, management and marketing to serve small and medium businesses, large business customers, carriers and wireless providers. Mr. Volgende began his career with Verizon in 1983 and held a variety of positions in Marketing, Customer Service, Network Planning, Science & Technology and IT. He has been instrumental in the development and launch of numerous products from IP, Dedicated Internet Access, DSL, Video, FastPacket and ISDN/SS7. Mr. Volgende received a B.S. in Business from State College at Geneseo and MBA in Marketing and International Business from Pace University. | | Tim Miller is the Director of Business Development at CoStreet Communications. Mr. Miller has been with CoStreet Communications since June 2008 as the Director of Business Development. He is currently working on building the next generation of products and services. Before joining CoStreet Communications, Mr. Miller spent 12 years at BellSouth working in various wholesale roles.
